What counts as a tree emergency
Call immediately if a tree or large limb is on your house, garage, vehicle, or fence; if a tree is leaning newly or has lifted roots after a storm; if a limb is hanging (a "widow-maker") over a walkway or driveway; or if a failure is blocking a road or your only access. If anyone is injured or power lines are involved, call 911 and your utility first — then call us.
Stay clear of downed power lines
Never approach a tree touching a power line — assume every downed line is live and deadly. Keep people and pets back at least 35 feet and call your electric utility (Oncor for most of Collin County). We coordinate with the utility before working anywhere near energized lines; that is not a do-it-yourself situation.
Our 24/7 response
Our emergency line is answered around the clock. During active storms in Murphy we typically reach tree-on-structure calls within 1–3 hours and other hazards within 24 hours. The first priority is making the scene safe — stabilizing or removing what is threatening people and property — then full cleanup once the hazard is controlled.
Doing it safely under load
Storm-damaged trees are far more dangerous than a normal removal: limbs are under spring-loaded tension, root plates are compromised, and structures are already weakened. Our crews are trained to read and release that tension safely, use cranes for trees over houses, and work to ANSI Z133 standards — fully insured, so a bad day does not become your liability.
Insurance & documentation
Homeowners insurance usually covers removing the tree portion on an insured structure plus repair of the damage. We photograph everything, provide an itemized written scope, and give you insurance-ready documentation for your Murphy claim. We can also tarp and secure an opening to prevent further water damage while you file.
